Wes Nelson’s Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa Bauer has been branded ‘icy’ by venue staff following her feud with Megan Barton Hanson.
The 22-year-old professional skater, who was slammed by Love Island star Megan, 24, for being ‘tactical’, was described as unfriendly by workers at a training rink during rehearsals for the series.
A source told The Mirror: ‘I’m not surprised Megan had a spat with her. She was proper icy.’
Speaking on the alleged encounter, they elaborated: ‘You said good morning to her and she’d look you up and down and not say anything… it was like she was too good for us.
‘So I’d be like ‘I ain’t saying good morning to you again’, the insider added.
An ITV representative denied the claims, stating: ‘This could not be further from the truth – Vanessa has never shown anything other than courtesy and respect towards the production staff’
MailOnline has contacted Vanessa’s representatives for comment.
On Sunday, former glamour model Megan appeared to miss this week’s show as she fell ill, following claims she looked like ‘scorned ex’ while watching beau Wes, 20, and Vanessa during his debut performance earlier this month.
Their dance followed a stressful week for Wes and his Love Island co-star, after Megan hit out at Vanessa – accusing the skater of ‘tactfully’ breaking up with her boyfriend Louis Nathaniel to gain headlines.
Blonde bombshell Megan recently told the Loose Women panel that she stands by her belief that Vanessa’s break-up was ‘tactical’.
She also asserted her feelings that Vanessa should have reached out to her and invited her to come to Dancing On Ice training.
Addressing why she first decided to criticise Vanessa online, Megan admitted: ‘I was just really hurt, obviously. I think it’s normal, I’m not deeply insecure. I’m jealous, I am selfish.’
On Sunday’s Dancing On Ice, the brunette beauty joined Wes as they opted for a Hairspray-inspired Quickstep routine, but viewers were left cringing when they shared an awkward hug following their dance.
While other couples celebrated the news they were through by jumping for joy and embracing, Wes seemed keen to put distance between him and Vanessa, instead opting for a one-armed hug.
One viewer tweeted: ‘Sorry to see Wes so frightened to touch his gorgeous partner Vanessa. Makes for uncomfortable viewing. He could win if he was allowed to enjoy this amazing opportunity! Don’t let a girlfriend/boyfriend ruin your enjoyment….EVER!’

A third posted: ‘Also Wes and Vanessa trying not to be touchy and hug each other even when through to the next week #DancingOnIce’.
The pair wowed show panelists Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner as they topped the leaderboard for a second week in a row with 29.5 points.
Speaking about his routine, the TV personality said: ‘I think you could have a lot more fun with it and it suited our personalities.’
Professional skater Jayne, 61, praised: ‘I thought it was brilliant! I was impressed with the difficulties in the routine.’
Jason, 47, added: ‘The fact that you loved it came across, you nailed it! What an incredible performance. Keep this going, don’t go below this bar now.’
Throwing their support behind their former co-star, Love Island’s Adam Collard and Sam Bird beamed with delight during their attendance.
Personal trainer Adam, 23, gushed to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: ‘He’s good at everything, there’s no surprise at all’, while Sam, 25, added: ‘He was a really good dancer in the villa’.
